Practical Information

We’ll begin with a brief email or phone conversation to discuss what’s bringing you to therapy. If we agree to move forward, I will email you a copy of my therapy contract for you to have a look through and arrange an initial assessment session, either in person or via MsTeams.

Initial Consultation

An assessment session gives me the opportunity to gain some key information and we’ll talk in more depth about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from sessions. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have. If we decide not to move forward together, I’ll be happy to signpost you to other appropriate sources of support. The cost and length of this consultation is the same as a psychotherapy session.

Sessions

Following the initial consultation, sessions are 50 minutes in length and usually take place weekly or fortnightly at a regular, agreed time depending on need and circumstances. The consistency of this space is an important part of the therapeutic process. Sessions are available in person and / or online via a secure platform. We can discuss what feels most appropriate for you.

Fees

  • Psychotherapy - £65 per session

  • Supervision - £40 per session

  • Trainee Counsellor - £25 per session

Payment terms will be agreed at the outset of our work. I ask that payment for each session is made in advance of the session, payment details are detailed on the therapy contract.

A limited number of reduced-fee spaces may be available for those in training or on reduced income.

Cancellations & Missed Sessions

If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, or missed sessions, will be charged at the full rate.

Confidentiality

I adhere to the ethical framework of the UK Council for Psychotherapy. What you bring to sessions is treated as confidential. The main exceptions to this are where there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is required by law. I may also discuss my work in supervision, where your identity is protected.

Ending Therapy

You are free to end therapy at any time. Where possible, I encourage us to think together about endings so that the work can be brought to a considered and meaningful close.
